After four rounds of the League of Nations football, the Poles were in the leader’s seat and had everything in their hands when it came to promotion to the final tournament, which they would also be organizing.
Unfortunately, the terrible match against the weakened Italy away (0: 2) ruined the Biało-Czerwoni’s chances for the fight for the Final Four. The Poles presented themselves very badly and they did not really appear on the pitch seriously. After the game, voices were heard that Brzęczek cannot continue to be the national team coach, as the team does not show the quality that is required at this level. The team captain, Robert Lewandowski, added fuel to the fire, who in the post-match interview with TVP Sport summed up the question about tactics for the match against Italy with a long silence and an evasive answer.
Wednesday’s game with the Netherlands was better for our team, but also lost (1: 2). The Poles managed to take the lead quickly, but in the second half they did not manage to keep the win, conceding goals after set pieces. Brzęczek, however, was to save his job there.
