Cabinet: ‘No infections have yet taken place in aircraft’ | NOW

No one has yet become infected with the corona virus in an airplane, according to the source and contact investigations of the GGD. This is stated in a letter that Minister Hugo de Jonge (Public Health) and Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructure) sent to the Lower House on Thursday.

People who eventually turned out to be contagious during a flight did not ignite anyone on a plane, the letter shows.

The letter sent by the ministers to the House of Representatives consisted of answers to questions asked by the House after it appeared that in June and July several people appeared to be infected with the virus at home after a flight.

In some places at Schiphol and on airplanes, all passengers are required to wear a mouth mask. Travelers arriving home can also have themselves tested at the airport. According to the cabinet, there are currently no reasons to tighten these measures.
