Cabinet is considering stronger package of corona measures | Inland

Prime Minister Rutte and Corona Minister De Jonge want to announce a large number of national measures during the press conference on Monday evening. The Hague sources report this.

There are quite a few options on the table. For example, the cabinet wants people to have a maximum of four people visiting. There is a line through the audience at sports matches. This applies to professional football, but also to amateur matches.

In addition, there will be significant restrictions for the catering industry. A maximum of 30 people are allowed in, with a maximum of four people at a table. No new visitors are allowed in from 9 p.m. and the doors must close at 10 p.m. Mayors are allowed to give exceptions, for example for music venues. A maximum of 50 people may come together outside.

Shopping cart

In addition, the government is also considering mandatory a shopping cart in the supermarket, separate shopping times for vulnerable groups and stricter enforcement on working from home. Employers who let too many people work in the office can be closed for fourteen days as a punishment.

Special attention is paid to the large cities where the number of corona infections is alarmingly high. Anyone who wants to travel to and from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague can only do so if it is really necessary. An exception is made for ‘vital sectors’. For locations with a large throughput, such as museums and zoos, a reservation requirement will apply, with fixed time slots. Contact professions, such as hairdressers and physiotherapists, will be subject to a registration obligation, so that in the event of an infection it is easier to trace the source afterwards.

Social contacts

On Monday, the cabinet will consult with the chairpersons of the security regions to coordinate the measures. They must then take effect from Tuesday evening. The goal, according to sources, is that people have considerably less social contacts in the next three weeks, so that a new lockdown is not necessary.
