Italy is notoriously home to small cars. Let’s take the first four months of 2021: combining the sales of cars in segment A and those of B, we arrive at 55.7% of market total. In 2019, the reference year for Unrae – in consideration of the disastrous 2020 – they accounted for 52.1%. Growth paid the price segment C, which went from 34.4% to 29.1%: but it remains strategic for all homes, as if for our country the average car is already considered demanding, in the rest of Europe it is often the first car. The Volkswagen Golf – historic bestseller – expresses the concept at its best. But also the Octavia (which is a segment C to the limits so much so that in Italy it is rated as D) is a leader in seven countries. In any case, let’s see the main technical data and the prices of cars of this size according to the ranking of national registrations in the January-April period drawn up by Unrae.
