By entering Pot 2 of the U-20 Asian Cup, Indonesia avoids Japan

After entering pot 2 of the lottery Asian Cup U-20 2023, Indonesia National Under 20 team certainly will not be in the same group with Japan which is in the same bracket.

The Indonesian national team that won the group in the qualifiers for the U-20 Asian Cup was placed in pot 2. Japan, Tajikistan and Australia were also in the same position. Therefore, Indonesia will not be in the same group as the three countries.

Japan is one of the countries that performed impressively in the qualifying round for the U-20 Asian Cup, they were able to win the four games played. In total, Japan have scored 22 goals and have never conceded a goal in qualifying for the U-20 Asian Cup.

The Indonesian national team itself will face one of the nations in each bracket 1, 3 and 4.

In the first band there are Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Qatar. In band 3 there are Jordan, China, Iraq and Vietnam. While in band 4 there are Iran, Oman, Syria and Kyrgyzstan.

The Indonesian U-20 national team itself also performed impressively in qualifying for the U-20 Asian Cup. In three games against Vietnam, East Timor and Hong Kong, they all managed to finish with victory.

The Indonesian Under-20 national team scored a total of 12 goals and conceded only three in qualifying for the Under-20 Asian Cup.

The U-20 Asian Cup will take place from 1 to 18 March in Uzbekistan. The U-20 Asian Cup is also a qualifying event for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

The Indonesian Under-20 team itself has been confirmed as qualified for the U-20 World Cup due to its guest status.
