Rio Entrepreneur Gabriel farrel, Founder of Borda e Brasa Pizzeria, Dies in Parachute Accident
Rio de Janeiro – Gabriel farrel, the founder of popular pizzeria chain Borda e Brasa, died Saturday in an accident following a parachute jump. He was 35 years old. The news has prompted an outpouring of grief from friends,family,and the Rio business community.
Farrel launched Borda e Brasa in 2016, beginning with a mobile wood-fired pizza operation out of a modified pickup truck, selling at events and private parties. He invested approximately $5,000 to adapt the vehicle. The first brick-and-mortar Borda e Brasa opened in 2018, and the business expanded to include two franchises. In 2020, Farrel secured investment from entrepreneurs on the Brazilian television program Shark tank, further fueling the pizzeria’s growth. prior to founding Borda e Brasa, Farrel was an engineering student.
News of Farrel’s death circulated quickly on social media, with tributes from fellow musicians and friends. Shaman singer expressed disbelief, while singer Alan Bernardes lamented the loss of Farrel’s “contagious joy.” Farrel’s sister-in-law, Renata Adgate, described him as an “eternal and favorite brother-in-law,” stating, “God is taking care of you now.”
