Nigerian Burna Boy won the best international artist award at the BET Awards on Sunday for the second year in a row.

The author of African Giant is ahead of Innoss’B (DRC), Sho Madjozi (South Africa), Dave (United Kingdom), Stormzy (United Kingdom), Ninho (France) and S. Pri Noir (France) who were vying for this distinction.

British supermodel Naomi Campbell at the virtual presentation of the price to the Nigerian superstar took the opportunity to declare that “around 1835, there was a mission to make Africa a dominated continent”.

“It is time to reverse this and return to the prestigious continent that we used to be, because for black life to matter, Africa must have it”, she said in this context of anti-racism since the tragic death of George Floyd.
