Bundesliga – Wolfsburg sign goalkeeper White

Wolfsburg (SID) – Cup winners VfL Wolfsburg have strengthened their team with goalkeeper Lisa Weiß nine days before the start of the women’s Bundesliga season. The former national player is moving from Aston Villa WFC to the Wolves free of charge and signed a contract with Lower Saxony until 2023.

“Not least in view of Almuth Schult’s current injury, I am very happy that we were able to sign an extremely experienced keeper in Lisa Weiß at such short notice,” said Wolfsburg’s sporting director Ralf Kellermann.

The 33-year-old Weiß moved from Olympique Lyon to the Birmingham district club at the beginning of last season, after playing for SGS Essen in Germany until 2018. “I’m happy to be back in the women’s Bundesliga after three years abroad,” said Weiß.
