Lawyer Fabian Drescher will become the deputy of Hertha’s new president, Kay Bernstein. Drescher, who was previously a simple member of the executive committee, received 1966 out of 2,216 votes cast at the extraordinary general meeting of the Bundesliga soccer club on Sunday.

Ingmar Pering, who originally also wanted to run for office, withdrew his candidacy after Bernstein’s previous victory in the presidential election. If Frank Steffel was successful, Pering wanted to become his deputy. Drescher tied his candidacy to Bernstein’s victory.

Tim Kauermann, proposed by Bernstein, and Hans-Joachim Bläsing were elected as simple members of the Executive Committee. Other candidates did not achieve the required absolute majority.
