“Bulgarian Christmas” raised nearly BGN 2 million





The charity initiative of the head of state “Bulgarian Christmas” in support of children in need of emergency care and intensive care continues. The amount raised for the nineteenth edition of the campaign reached over BGN 2,455,000 after the end of the charity performance, which took place at the Ivan Vazov National Theater under the patronage of President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva.

So far, more than 345,000 donation short messages have been sent to number 1117 and voice calls to 0900 1117 since the start of the campaign, which was announced by President Rumen Radev on the last day of November. Since then, the donor’s bank account of the initiative has received BGN 2,055,000, and over BGN 55,000 have been donated through the ePay.bg system. The collection of donations within the campaign is year-round.

Prominent Bulgarian musicians, singers, dancers, actors, athletes, and journalists took to the stage of the National Theater to support children with serious illnesses. This year the concert was realized by the team of “Dream Team” and broadcast live on bTV and the Bulgarian National Radio. The show will be broadcast again tonight on BNT 4 from 20.30.

Beloved Bulgarian musicians, including Grafa, Vesko Eshkenazi, BTR, Lubo Kirov, Beloslava, Doni and Neti, the Foundation, Toni Dimitrova, Rositsa Kirilova and the Zhestim group, took part in the charity concert on the stage of the Ivan Vazov National Theater. , Dara Ekimova and Nikola Todorov. The hosts of this year’s edition of the show were the actors Pavel Ivanov and the little Aya Aleksieva. The performance sent messages of solidarity and empathy from favorite Bulgarian musicians, our Olympic champions, our volleyball talents, prominent athletes, doctors, members of the public and journalists, who also joined in calling for support for the initiative dedicated to the health of Bulgarian children. Children, assisted by the Bulgarian Christmas, came on stage to tell about their efforts and dreams. Reports were broadcast on the support provided by the initiative for children and the specialized equipment donated to medical institutions. During the concert, thousands of Bulgarians joined the cause by donating and showing the children that they are not alone in their fight against the disease.

For 19 years now, the joint efforts of thousands of virtuous Bulgarians who have made the Bulgarian Christmas cause possible have confirmed the donation traditions in the country and won public support for charity. During the years of its existence, the noble cause of “Bulgarian Christmas” has raised nearly 40 million levs.

Thanks to the active support of donors and partners, the initiative supports an average of 500 children each year and provides high-tech medical equipment for 28 hospitals across the country.
