Buchberg AR: ATM blown up and fled on foot

Early on Saturday morning (April 3rd, 2021) an ATM was blown up by an unknown perpetrator in the Schaffhausen community of Buchberg. Massive property damage was caused and cash was stolen. The Schaffhausen police asked the population for relevant information.

At 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning (April 3rd, 2021), an ATM was broken into in a bank branch in Buchberg. The unknown perpetrators stole cash in a currently unknown amount, caused massive property damage and then fled on foot.

At the scene of the crime, the perpetrators left a car that had previously been stolen in the canton of Zurich, which was seized by the Schaffhausen police.

In addition to the Schaffhausen police, officers from the Zurich Cantonal Police and the Federal Customs Administration (EZV) were also on duty. The forensic service of the Schaffhausen police carried out the forensic investigation work with the Zurich Forensic Institute. Corresponding investigations have been initiated.
