A bubble of two age groups of the Scouts & Gidsen Ezaart from Mol have returned early from their summer camp in Oud-Turnhout on Wednesday evening because a leader may be infected with the corona virus. That says the municipality of Mol. Although the leader tested negative for the virus, since she showed all the symptoms, the possibility of a “false negative” result is taken into account.

The leader in question fell ill on Wednesday morning and showed the typical corona symptoms. She was immediately quarantined and soon underwent a corona test. A few hours later, the result turned out negative. “After further consultation with medical specialists and the FPS Public Health, the youth association was advised to immediately stop the camp of the bubble in question,” said the municipality. “The youth leader’s symptoms are completely consistent with corona. Even if you are infected, the test can give a false negative result. The well-being and health of the children were given priority, however unfortunate for the members involved. ”
The parents were asked to pick up their children that same evening in Oud-Turnhout. The teacher undergoes a second test, but in the meantime the parents must contact the doctor in any case, who can order a corona test on their child or a period of home quarantine. “We ask the parents to at least be alert to any disease symptoms,” says the municipality. “In that case, home quarantine is definitely recommended pending the test result. Also avoid meetings with the grandparents for a period of two weeks. ”
