The European Commission has approved, under the EU Mergers Regulation, the acquisition of exclusive control of Industria de Turbo Propulsores (ITP) of Spain by Bain Capital Investors (Bain Capital) of the USA.
ITP manufactures aircraft engine components and provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services. Bain Capital is a private equity investment firm that invests in companies in various sectors.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns because, apart from a limited vertical link between the activities of the companies, there are no other overlaps.
The transaction was examined through the simplified merger review procedure.
