Brussels Airlines expects to start using its first Airbus A320neo in October. It will be the very first time in the airline’s history that it will receive a brand new aircraft directly from the aircraft manufacturer. A total of five of the devices are expected.

The airline announced the timing following videos posted on its social media channels showing the first example being painted in Brussels Airlines colors at aircraft manufacturer Airbus in the French city of Toulouse. The device is not coming to Brussels immediately. Delivery is expected at the end of August. The first passenger flight would take place in October, says Joëlle Neeb, spokeswoman for the airline.
In total, there will be five A320neos in the fleet. The second and third are also expected to be delivered this year, but will probably not be operational until early 2024. The last two are expected in the course of 2024. The new aircraft replace older aircraft (A319) in the Brussels Airlines fleet.
