At the airline Brussels Airlines, activities will return to normal on Sunday, after they were resumed after a three-day strike action. This was learned from Maaike Andries, spokeswoman for Brussels Airlines. A total of 316 flights have been canceled due to the strike, affecting some 40,000 passengers. The financial impact of the strike is not yet clear.

During the three-day strike, 217 of the 533 scheduled flights at Brussels Airlines could be operated, or about 40 percent of the total. The majority of the 40,000 affected passengers were still able to depart for their destinations thanks to rebookings.
–
A small number of affected passengers will depart on Sunday, so flights will be very full on Sunday. That would continue to be the case in the coming days.
–
The pilots and cabin crew of Brussels Airlines had started their strike action on Thursday, which ended on Saturday evening. The social conflict has dragged on at Brussels Airlines since last summer, where the staff suffers from a high workload.
–
A first action was taken in December, with a 24-hour strike. Now that tourism is picking up again after corona, the staff report that they are exhausted and are asking for a relief from the workload. Brussels Airlines, for its part, says it is open to resuming negotiations with the unions.
–
The exact financial impact of the strike for the airline is not yet known, according to the spokeswoman. That will become clear in the coming days and weeks.
