Brussels Airlines expands: bigger fleet and more than 200 more jobs | VTM Instagram NEWS

Brussels Airlines adds five new Airbus A320 neo aircraft to its fleet and reduces its carbon footprint. Most of the additional jobs are for flight personnel, some of whom are already in training. In the coming months, the airline will be recruiting more pilots and cabin crew so they can complete their training before the start of summer. In addition, the company is also looking for technicians and engineers, airport employees and people for commercial and support functions.

In addition to three new A320 neo that will join the Brussels Airlines fleet in 2023, the Management Board has approved the arrival of two more new A320 neo in 2024. According to Brussels Airlines, fleet renewal is today the most powerful to reduce CO2 emissions and flight noise. Brussels Airlines wants to halve its CO2 emissions by 2030 compared to 2019 and wants to be CO2 neutral by 2050. The A320 neo uses 15 to 20 percent less fuel than the A320 ceo and produces 50 percent less of noise. As the A320 neos will replace the A319 aircraft, fuel consumption per flight will decrease by 11%, while fuel consumption per seat for the same flight will decrease by 30% due to the increased number of seats.

Brussels Airlines is preparing for a summer with new destinations in Europe and with additional frequencies to existing European destinations. The airline expects its business in the European sector to grow by ten percent next summer. From the start of the summer season on 26 March 2023, Brussels Airlines will offer flights to Billund, Brindisi, Djerba, Monastir, Warsaw and Zurich, six new destinations in the airline’s network. The Belgian national carrier is increasing the number of flights to Berlin, Bordeaux, Chania, Frankfurt, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Kos, Las Palmas, Lyon, Madrid, Munich, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife and Zurich.
