At the age of 13, Lee began his martial arts journey as a disciple of Yip Man, mastering Wing Chun. He later broadened his skillset, integrating elements of Hung Kuen and Mantis Boxing – a testament to the rich martial arts landscape of Lingnan. This foundation proved crucial in the advancement of his signature fighting beliefs, Jeet Kune Do.
Lee’s influence transcended national borders. He established martial arts schools in the United States, breaking down conventional barriers between sects and blending eastern and western techniques. His films, including fist of Fury and Way of the Dragon, catapulted Chinese Kungfu to international prominence.
Today, Bruce Lee Paradise in Jun’an Town is home to a towering bronze statue of the martial artist, depicted in a classic, watchful pose. The monument serves as a powerful symbol of his enduring connection to the land of his ancestors.
