Brooklyn Book Bodega breathes new life into children’s books

In Brooklyn, the city government is promoting organizations that are dedicated to finding owners of used objects.

Volunteers ordered thousands of books in Brooklyn Book Bodega, a non-profit organization aims to place a book in the hands of every child in the city.

This was part of the first day of the event called New York Reuse organized by the Cleaning Department, which serves to make visible the groups that give a new life to objects already used, such as books, and that serve for the growth of other people.

According to Cecilia Golombek, project coordinator: “There are many books that are in very good condition, that are in the homes of families who have children who have grown up and are not reading the same books, but they can be given to another family. Families may not know other families where they can donate them. So they can give to us at Brooklyn Book Bodega to give to other communities in other parts of New York City. “

Other organizations throughout the city also collected items for babies and children and reusable art supplies.
