British virus mutation found at healthcare facility and hospital | Inland

It is a care institution where people with intellectual disabilities live. In total almost eight hundred people live there. The sick residents are housed in a special corona unit.

The three live together in a house, together with three others. The other three may also have become infected. The GGD conducts research. It is not yet clear what the cause of the infection is.

According to the spokeswoman, the residents of the house have not been in contact with other residents of the care park. The park is currently closed for visitors.

The park is one of the 1100 locations that ‘s Heeren Loo has in the Netherlands. The organization has approximately 14,000 clients. ‘s Heeren Loo will start vaccinating next week.

Determination of virus mutation in hospital

The British variant has also been found among a number of employees of the Admiraal De Ruyter Hospital (ADRZ) in Goes. The infected people are now recovering, the hospital says. The GGD has been informed and will determine whether further steps are necessary. According to the Zeeland newspaper PZC, it concerns four employees.

The hospital urges employees, patients and visitors to comply with the corona measures. “Fortunately our colleagues are recovering again, but it has prompted us to bring all measures to the attention of employees as well as to our patients and visitors and to tighten them up where necessary,” says Sjors van Lieshout of the ADRZ. “Respect the rules of the lockdown, stay at home, get tested in case of complaints, wear a mouth mask and keep your distance.”

The hospital also states that patients can simply go to the ADRZ with an appointment. “The hospital is committed to providing care as safely as possible. They do need the cooperation of all of us in this. ”
