British Queen in mourning: another of her dogs died

These are bad times for the British royals’ pets. Last week, Prince William and his wife Kate had to say goodbye to their dog Lupo, and now one of the Queen’s dogs would have died too.

We have known for some time that the British Queen is a big animal lover. Equestrian is one of her great passion, but her beloved dogs are also never far away. And quite a few have already been reviewed. On her 18th birthday she got her first corgi named Susan. And in the meantime, the Queen has already had 30 descendants from Susan.

Six months ago, Whisper, her last purebred corgi, died, and now Vulcan has died too. He was a ‘dorgi’, a cross between a dachshund and a corgi. The dog appeared regularly at the Queen’s side and even played a small part in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics when he walked alongside the Queen in a movie with James Bond.

According to The Sun, the dog died of natural causes of old age. The Queen had had Vulcan since 2007.

The Queen is said to have stopped breeding her dogs two years ago because she doesn’t want to leave pets when she’s gone. The queen herself is 94 years old and currently has one dog left.
