In response to the expulsion of two British diplomats from Belarus, the British Foreign Ministry decided on Tuesday to take an equivalent step. Britain will not be intimidated by the Lukashenka regime, said the head of British diplomacy Domnic Raab.
–
The decision to expel two British diplomats – military attaché Timothy Wight-Boycott and deputy ambassador Lisa Thumwood – was made “in connection with their activities inconsistent with the status of a diplomat and with the purposes of their stay in Belarus,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatol Hłaz told ONT television .
–
A spokesman for the ministry of diplomacy noted that the Belarusian side considered them personae non gratae only because it had obtained confirmation of the “destructive nature of their activities”. – With this decision, the Belarusian side by no means closes the door to dialogue with our British colleagues and leaves it open – Hłaz noted.
