Britain sends troops to Bulgaria

Britain will send a military formation in Bulgaria. These are part of NATO’s plans for our country.

This was announced by the Minister of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom James Heppy in an interview for the show “120 minutes” on bTV. The interview will be broadcast on Sunday.

One formation, the Royal Irish Regiment, will be here in a few weeks – will be here soon. They will come as part of an American-led battle group, he said.

So far, the Alliance sees no signs of Russia’s attack on member states

According to him, this is a kind of temporary force at the invitation of the Bulgarian government to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank. There are many opportunities for the United States, the United Kingdom and Bulgaria to do joint trainings next summer, so I am excited about the opportunities it offers.

The long term plan is that NATO has asked Italy to establish an increased presence with a reinforced battle group vigilance here in Bulgaria – similar to Great Britain in Estonia. Who will be part of this battle group in the long run has not yet been confirmed, the Italians are working on it.
