UK government announces new expansion sanctions list regarding Russia because of the war in Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement on the website of the British government. So the updated list includes 12 Russians and eight companies. Among them are people from the closest circle of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In particular, Vladimir Potanin is the second richest man in Russia, the owner of the large Interros conglomerate and the largest beneficiary of Norilsk Nickel. Also in the press release, he is called “a key supporter of the Kremlin.”
“Potanin continues to amass a fortune by supporting the Putin regime, having bought Rosbank and shares in Tinkoff Bank after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” the report said.

The sanctions also hit Anna Tsivileva, whom the British government calls Putin’s cousin. However, according to media reports, she is the cousin of the Russian leader. Tsivileva is the president of the well-known Russian coal mining company AO Kolmar Group.
