It is raining compliments for Tim Krul after his performance against Manchester United in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. The Dutch goalkeeper kept Norwich City on his feet for a long time, but deep in the extension Harry Maguire hit the ball.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called his defender the man of the match, but Ian Wright disagrees. “I thought Tim Krul was the Man of the Match,” said the former Arsenal attacker Match of The Day.

The Sun calls it ‘especially for Krul cruel’ that Norwich had to bend deep into the extension. “He made excellent rescues several times.” The boulevard newspaper also points to the heroic role of the Orange international against Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup. “With the approaching penalty shootout, Krul probably recognized his chance as a recognized specialist.”
Of BBC concludes with ‘brilliant and extraordinary’ saves from Krul. The broadcaster therefore appoints him as Man of the Match.
