Breathtaking scenery

The trip home to Oslo was anything but boring, as Lars Magne Hovtun was due to fly from Evenes and south on Thursday evening. Already on the way on board the plane, the northern lights lit up the sky.

On board, the experience would prove to be even more spectacular.

– Immediately after departure, a message came from the crew over the loudspeaker. They said they wanted to show everyone on board the fantastic northern lights, says Hovtun.

– Spectacular view

It all ended with a 360 degree turn during the flight. Hovtun made sure to immortalize the powerful nature experience with a picture.

– Those sitting by the window had a spectacular view. The northern lights lasted almost the entire trip, and I took the picture when it was at its fiercest, he says to Dagbladet.

– Good advertising

However, not everyone on board was equally fascinated by the sight. Because some people have seen more northern lights in their lives than others.

– I sat with a couple of northerners, and they were not particularly impressed, says Hovtun, laughing.

He himself has been to northern Norway a lot, and encourages everyone to experience the northern lights in northern regions at least once in their life.

– Seeing it so intensely from the plane was new for me. Getting a little extra sightseeing made it even better. It was good advertising for both Norwegian and Norway, says Hovtun.
