The police are chasing Dede (32), a resident of Kertajadi Village, Cidaun District, Cianjur, West Java, the perpetrator burning towards his girlfriend, Indah Daniarti.
“After dousing the victim with pertalite fuel, the perpetrator had the heart to light the fire, so that the victim suffered almost 100 percent burns. Seeing the victim was burned, the perpetrator immediately fled,” said Cidaun Police Chief AKP Sumardi when contacted on Sunday.
Victim Indah Daniarti, a resident of Kampung Bayuning, Karangwangi Village, Cidaun District, was critically injured due to serious burns, had received medical assistance at the local puskesmas, but was eventually referred to RSHS Bandung because she had to receive special treatment.
“His condition is critical, so it needs special handling. Meanwhile, the perpetrators are still in pursuit of officers who have been deployed to several points. We are investigating the motive behind the arson,” said the police chief.
He added, for the pursuit of the perpetrators, his party coordinated with the Cianjur Police and the West Java Regional Police, with the hope that the perpetrators could be immediately arrested to account for their actions.
Meanwhile, a member of the Cidaun District Retana, Sandi Guntara, said that the motive behind the perpetrator’s reckless action was because he was hurt by the victim’s decision to love him, so that the perpetrator dared to douse the victim with pertalite and burn him alive, the information was obtained from the victim’s friends.
“The perpetrator was hurt because the victim had decided his love for him. When the victim was at his relative’s house, the perpetrator was desperate to burn the victim and ran away. The victim who was seriously injured was referred to RSHS Bandung,” he said.
