KOMPAS.com – Indonesian rock climbing athlete, Kiromal Katibinbroke the world’s fastest record for the category men’s speedFriday (6/5/2022) afternoon WIB.
Kiromal Katibin became the fastest man in the world in terms of rock climbing number men’s speed.
Kiromal Katibin’s record time in climbing a 15 meter high wall is 5.17 seconds.
He managed to break the record in the second qualifying session of the 2022 World Cup International Sport Climbing (IFSC) in Seoul, South Korea.

The record time is less than the previous record holder who is also an athlete from Indonesia, Leonardo Veddriq.
Previously, Leonardo Veddriq recorded a time of 5.208 seconds in Utah, United States.
Indonesia is struggling in South Korea
Despite the broken world record, the Indonesian rock climbing team is currently battling for the 2022 World Cup Indonesia Sport Climbing in South Korea.
Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) sent 12 senior national rock climbing athletes.
All athletes dispatched are category athletes speed.
For information, there are three main categories in the rock climbing competition, namely speed, boulder, and lead.
