Treasury and Finance Minister Albayrak weight and 1 person was arrested regarding the insulting content on social media for his family, 9 people are still in process.
The investigation launched on insulting posts following the post announced by the Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak on the social media that their fourth child was born is ongoing. 35 account managers were identified in the study conducted for the accounts targeting individuals or institutions by sharing with Minister Albayrak and his family.
Sixteen of them were detained by police teams across the country. Five of the suspects taken into custody were released after their statements at the police. It was stated that the judicial proceedings of 9 people are continuing. While it was determined that 4 of the determined account managers were abroad, it was noted that the studies for the capture of the other 15 were continuing.
ONE OF 2 SUSPICIOUS IS ARRESTED
The security proceedings of 2 suspects who were detained within the scope of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office on insulting comments targeting Minister Albayrak and his wife Esra Albayrak on social media were completed. The suspect, Mehmet Fatih K. (26) and Muammer K. (42), whose operations were completed at the Public Security Branch R & D Information Processing Bureau, were brought to Çağlayan Courthouse. One of the suspects, Mehmet Fatih K. was arrested and sent to sentry judges on condition that Muammer K. judicial control provisions were applied.
When the judge on duty decided to arrest Mehmet Fatih K., Muammer K. was released following the judicial control provisions. It was learned that Mehmet Fatih K., who was arrested, was registered for “insulting the President”.
It was learned that the suspects’ statements in the police said that they regretted their sharing and apologized to Minister Albayrak and his wife.
