Brazilian Hiker Found dead After Fall on Indonesian Volcano
SAO PAULO, brazil (AP) – A 26-year-old Brazilian hiker, Juliana Marins, has been found dead after falling approximately 600 meters (1,968 feet) from the ridge of Mount Rinjani, an active volcano on the Indonesian island of Lombok. Marins fell on June 21st while summiting the 3,726-meter (12,224-foot) volcano with a guide and five other foreign tourists.
Indonesian authorities confirmed that no signs of life were found after a four-day intensive search hampered by challenging terrain and weather conditions . The search team utilized a thermal drone to locate Marins’ body near a crater.
