Ten teams participate in the South American qualifiers: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador.
The ten teams are competing for four cards to qualify for the World Cup, while the fifth place participates in a supplement.
All ten teams meet each other in the round-trip matches.
The qualifiers in South America will take place between all the teams from the round-trip league, with the qualifiers starting in March 2020 and ending in November 2021.
In the first round of the qualifiers, Brazil will meet Bolivia, Argentina with Ecuador and Uruguay, with Chile and Colombia, with Venezuela and Paraguay with Peru.
