Actor Brad Pitt has accused his ex-wife and actress Angelina Jolie of trying to “harm” him by selling half of his French generosity to Russian oligarchs with “toxic associations and intentions.”
According to a report by the Deccan Herald, the lawsuit filed in recent lawsuits as part of Pete’s lawsuit against Jolie over the sale of Chateau Miraval is the latest legal dispute between a former Hollywood couple who settled in 2016.
In October, Jolie sold his share of the vineyard to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Russian-born billionaire Yuri Sheffler, a beverage company in southern France. This is the same place where Jolie and Pitt got married.
Pitt sued Jolie in February, saying the couple had pledged never to sell their interests without the other party’s consent, and accused him of making an “undeserved” profit. Pete’s lawyers say that “Jolie tried to hurt Pete with the sale” and that Sheffler is a “stranger with toxic intentions and intentions.”
Sheffler, whose headquarters in Latvia is the beverage giant of the Stoli group, has long been a strong opponent of Putin. According to a lawsuit filed in a Los Angeles court last Friday, Sheffler “maintains a personal and professional relationship with those close to Vladimir Putin.” Shelfer made a statement in March after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying he had been “expelled from Russia since 2002 for my opposition to Putin” and that his company had been renamed “Solidarity with Ukraine.”
However, Pete’s latest documentation states that “despite Sheffler’s desperate attempt to distance himself from Putin’s regime, the Stoly brand is now a huge international obligation.” In addition, “Stoli vodka is synonymous with Russia, as evidenced by the numerous photos in which consumers pour Stoli vodka into the sewer.”
“Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the Maraval insurance company has sought assurances that Sheffler is not affiliated with Putin and that affiliation with Stoli will not pose a commercial risk,” the lawsuit said.
One source said that Jolie chose to sell because she and her children “could not return” to Chateau Miraval, and made several offers to her ex-husband before agreeing to sell Sheffler. Pete’s claim against Jolie was an “extension of a false narrative,” the source said, and “the truth about the situation has yet to be made public.”
Pitt and Jolie met for a role in the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They were Hollywood’s most famous couple even when they divorced. They announced in 2018 that they had reached a friendly agreement for their children, but any agreement seems to be falling apart quickly. Jolie won the custody battle last July when a special judge was overseen to oversee the divorce and custody proceedings.
