BPW Postgame: Bayern lose on penalties to Kiel (Explicit)

I don’t want to write more than 50 words on this, but I have to. This Bayern Munich team doesn’t deserve it.

Here’s the podcast. I swear a lot, I yell a lot, I ramble a lot. This is not a typical reflection of my professionalism or my normal podcast output. Listeners know that.

But…I can’t be asked. What we saw today was a continuation of the failure of multiple people in charge of the club to address the problems on the field. The team looked past their noses to the game at the weekend, and as a result, a team sitting in 3rd place in the zweite Bundesliga will be moving on to the Round of 16.

This is Bayern’s earliest exit from the DFB Pokal since the 2000-01 season. That team lost to 1. FC Magdeburg on penalties, a team that hasn’t experienced top flight football since German re-unification. This time, it’s a team that has never played in the top flight in their entire history.

Enjoy – if you can. Stay safe. See you at the weekend.
