Henri de Romrée, the CEO of the American Bpost subsidiary Radial, is leaving his new position after barely a year. According to the postal company, this happens for family reasons.

The Mediahuis newspapers wrote on Wednesday that de Romrée has decided to leave the company. He is said to have problems with the way CEO Jean-Paul Van Avermaet runs the company.

In a press release, Bpost confirms on Wednesday that de Romrée will leave the company at the end of this year. According to Bpost, this is not done out of dissatisfaction but for family reasons. The Romrée children cannot settle in King of Prussia, where Radial’s headquarters are located.

De Romrée was Bpost’s rising star. He started working as a financial director at the company three years ago. He then became director of the important letters department. He was one of the internal candidates to take the role of CEO, but saw the job pass him by.

At the beginning of this year, the company sent him to the US to manage the American subsidiary Radial. Radial is the company that Bpost took over for 700 million euros two years ago, but that is turning squarely due to customers leaving and competition from Amazon.

Headhunter

According to the Mediahuis newspapers, Bpost has already started the search for a new CEO. The headhunter Egon Zehnder has asked several managers whether they want to apply for the post. The spokeswoman for Bpost denies that a mandate has been given to Egon Zehnder.
