BPOM Urges People to Not Use These Three Drugs Free

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Director of Registration Drug National Agency of Drug and Food Control ( BPOM) Rizka Andalucia reminded people not to buy drug hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine and dexamethasone without a doctor’s prescription to treat corona virus infection ( Covid-19).

Because, the three drugs are classified as hard drugs that require doctor supervision in the process of consumption.

“We urge the public not to use or obtain either hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine or dexamethasone freely,” Rizka said in his press conference at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Monday (6/29/2020).

“Must be a doctor’s prescription and under the supervision of a doctor,” he continued.

In addition, Rizka also appealed to the public to buy the three drugs at a legal pharmaceutical distribution shop.

The public is also advised not to buy drugs through online stores that are not trusted for the sake of ensuring personal security.

“So don’t buy drugs according to your own wishes,” he said.

Reported earlier, the three drugs used by the world to temporarily help the treatment of patients infected with Covid-19.

However, the three drugs are not the main drugs specifically created to cure Covid-19.

Until now the world has not managed to find the right drug or vaccine to prevent and treat humans from contracting Covid-19 disease.
