Serena Williams returned to the tennis tournaments victorious after a year’s absence. Former world number one and holder of 23 grand slam titles with Tunisian teammate Ons Jaburova defeated Maria Bouzkova and Spaniard Sara Sorribes 2: 6, 6: 3, 13:11 in the first round of doubles in Eastbourne.
Forty-year-old American star Williams is playing in front of Wimbledon on the grass in Eastbourne. He got a wild card in doubles, he won’t play in singles.
Bouzková and Sorribes won the doubles title in Istanbul a month ago, but this time they failed. In the second set they still led 3: 2, but then they lost four gamma in a row and in the supertie-break they did not use the sword ball at 11:10.
