1906: a time of upheaval. Fears and hopes shape society. The first dropouts – including the young Hermann Hesse – are looking for their paradise and find it in the south of Switzerland, on Monte Verità. The reformers not only take off their clothes, but also the intellectual corset that threatens to suffocate society. The young mother Hanna Leitner is also drawn to Ascona to escape her bourgeois role. Torn between feelings of guilt towards her abandoned family and the fascination of a self-determined life, Hanna not only discovers her passion for the art of photography, but also finds her own voice – in the midst of idyllic nature.
