SAN FRANCISCO (dpa-AFX) – The US software manufacturer Salesforce
exceeded expectations in the third quarter, but disappointed investors with a cautious outlook. The SAP
-Rivale on Tuesday after the US stock market closed, revenues between 7.22 billion and 7.23 billion dollars (6.4 billion euros) for the fourth fiscal quarter running until the end of January – analysts had expected more. The share reacted after the trading day with a price loss of more than six percent.

In the three months to the end of October, however, business was better than expected on Wall Street. Salesforce increased its revenues – also thanks to the takeover of the office communication service Slack – 27 percent year-over-year to $ 6.86 billion. Adjusted earnings per share fell from $ 1.74 to $ 1.27, but it was also better than the market expected.

Net income was $ 468 million. Salesforce also announced the promotion of board member Bret Taylor, who was previously responsible for day-to-day operations, to co-CEO alongside company co-founder Marc Benioff.
