Defense Argues Borsato‘s Testimony Relies on Unverified Claims, Victim’s Mother Lacks Recourse
During court proceedings last week, allegations surfaced regarding audio recordings and visual depictions involving the victim and her mother, reportedly shared with Marco Borsato. The defense counsel, Plasman, has strongly contested the veracity of these claims, characterizing them as “stories of a suspect.”
Plasman argued that Borsato was not obligated to present truthful testimony, highlighting the lack of prospect for rebuttal. “There is no opportunity for rebuttal. So everything he has said has been thrown into society and told there as ‘oh, then that’s how it all is’. That is simply not the case,” he stated.
Specifically, Borsato reportedly described instances where the victim’s mother allegedly sent him audio recordings of her daughter engaging in sexual activity and a visual depiction of the mother winking at the girl while she was undressed. The mother has denied the claim of the wink, but, according to Plasman,”she has no platform to do so,” and this lack of a public forum extends to many other arguments presented.
The defense acknowledged that the family exhibited a degree of tolerance towards sexually suggestive behavior. However, Plasman emphasized that these instances occurred over a period of years and were limited in number – “maybe three examples” were cited. He clarified that all parties involved were adults and had the agency to engage in consensual activities. Despite this, he underscored a critical point: “One thing: there was a girl among them and he should have stayed away from her.”
Plasman declined to comment on the current well-being of his client and her mother, stating that she preferred not to have the facts disclosed.
