Law enforcers liquidated human trafficking channel

Upon arrival in France, the attackers confiscated documents from the victims and threatened to create “problems” with local law enforcement agencies.

The State Border Service, together with the National Police, within the framework of cooperation with law enforcement agencies of France, stopped the work of the human trafficking channel. This was reported by the press service State border services.

About 50 searches were carried out and 8 persons involved in the criminal case were detained. Law enforcement officers revealed the scheme of illegal activities and detained the defendants in different cities and countries.

Law enforcers conducted searches at the place of residence of all the defendants, both on the territory of Ukraine and in France. A number of passport documents, SIM cards of different operators, bank cards, weapons and drugs were found in the criminals’ households.

It was found out that a group of persons on the territory of Ukraine carried out the selection and recruitment of persons with a low social standard of living.

The criminals offered the victims a so-called “trip to Europe”, for which the latter were also promised 200-300 euros. The victims were not told about the conditions and the end result of such a tour.

Upon arrival in France, the attackers confiscated documents from the victims and threatened to create “problems” with local law enforcement agencies. The only condition for returning home was the registration of the “refugee” status on the territory of France.

After the implementation of such actions, persons were accrued social compensation in the amount of 300 euros per month for nine months.

Using the position of the victims, the attackers received bank cards and funds in their hands, which were credited to the accounts, after which they returned the victims to Ukraine.

Further investigative actions are now underway. It is previously known that more than 100 people became victims of swindlers.

Earlier it was reported that the government of Ukraine is making significant efforts to eliminate human trafficking, however, does not fully meet the minimum standards for addressing the problem.
