– –

The Girondins de Bordeaux, Paris FC and FC Fleury emerged victorious in the three late matches of D1 Arkema played this Saturday, March 6 against Dijon, Reims and Le Havre.

Bordeaux which reinforces its third place, Paris FC (Camille Catala on our photo) which climbs to fourth, and Fleury FC 91 which now occupies fifth: the update of the French women’s championship of D1 Arkema, Saturday afternoon, allowed these three victorious teams to assert their positions in the ranking. They thus complete the top 5 behind Paris SG and Olympique Lyonnais.

BORDEAUX IS CLOSING

Bordeaux holds its third place and shows it. The Gironde team signed a third success in a row by winning at Dijon FCO (2-0), in a late match of the 14th day. They built it by scoring a goal per halftime. The first by Vanessa Gilles (19th), the second by the Dutch Katja Snoeijs (71st). The Bordelaises thus consolidate their place on the podium and take a new step towards qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.

PARIS FC IN THE TOP SQUARE

After a setback against Lyon (0-5) and a draw against Guingamp (0-0) at home, Paris FC returned to Reims with victory (4-1). In this meeting counting for the 14th day, the Ile-de-France women first benefited from a boost from Marie-Aurelle Awona, the defender from Champagne, who scored a goal against her camp, which allowed them to turn in the lead at the break (0-1). Gaëtane Thiney doubled the stake with a free kick shortly after the return from the locker room (0-2, 50th). A penalty from Rachel Corboz gave hope to the Stadistes (1-2, 73rd) but the PFC mastered the end of the match with two goals from Camille Catala (1-3, 89th) and the Canadian Evelyne Viens (1-4, 90th).

FLEURY FC 91 TAKES PLACE

Beaten at home successively by PSG (0-5) and Stade de Reims (1-2), the players of Fleury FC owed themselves a revenge and above all could not afford a new misstep at home against with the red Le Havre lantern. In this late match of the 12th day, undecided until its end, a goal was enough for their happiness, scored by their Swedish midfielder Michelle de Jongh (1-0, 15th). This allows them to advance two places in the standings. On the Norman side, however, the future has darkened even more.

The shock of the season in sight

All eyes are now on Matchday 16. It will not only be opened on Friday March 12 (6:45 p.m.), with an opposition between the Girondins de Bordeaux and Paris FC, respectively third and fourth in the standings.
But above all, it will be closed, on Saturday March 13 at 9:00 p.m., by what promises to be the match at the top of this entire season of D1 Arkema, between Olympique Lyonnais (2nd) and Paris Saint-Germain (1st) , at Groupama Stadium. A shock, to be followed live and in prime time on Canal +, perhaps decisive for the title of champion of France, held by OL since 2007. Before this meeting, the Parisiennes (victorious 1-0 at the ‘go to the Parc des Princes), are one point ahead of their Rhone rivals.
