Boom of COVID-19 patients in Slovenia – EU

  • In the last 24 hours, 1663 new coronavirus infections have been registered in Slovenia. The share of positive tests was 42.1 per cent, the highest since the pandemic began, Croatian television En1 reported, citing BTA.

    The average number of cases over the past seven days was 2,276, the Slovenian National Institute of Public Health announced today.

    The number of active cases is also a record – 27,720. The 14-day number of cases per 100,000 population has increased to 1,314. According to the Slovenian Ministry of Health, 53.1 percent of the population has been vaccinated.

    The number of hospitalizations continues to increase and has reached 572, of which 138 patients are in intensive care units. Six patients have died in the last 24 hours.

    The government does not rule out a new lockdown if the number of patients in intensive care units reaches 180.
