The music world mourns the loss of Bonnie Pointer. The singer died at the age of 69.

Bonnie Pointer († 69) founded the pop quartet “The Pointer Sisters” with her three sisters Ruth (74), Anita (72) and June († 52) in West Oakland, California, which featured hits like “I’m So Excited “,” He’s So Shy “and” Jump “achieved international fame. As a spokeswoman on behalf of Anita Pointer announced on Monday (June 8), the musician passed away in the morning. The cause of death is not yet known.

“With great sadness I have to tell the fans of the ‘Pointer Sisters’ that my sister Bonnie died this morning,” says a press release, “our family is heartbroken and on behalf of my siblings and the whole Pointer family, I ask you in this time for prayers “and further” Bonnie was my best friend and we talked to each other every day. We have never argued with one another in our whole life. I miss her now and will see her again someday. “
Bonnie Pointer left the “Pointer Sisters” in the 1970s
Bonnie had recorded five albums with the “Pointer Sisters” and also wrote the country hit “Fairytale” with Anita, which earned the sisters a Grammy. Bonnie Pointer left the group in 1977, but her sisters continued to appear as “The Pointer Sisters” and were awarded two more Grammys for their album “Break Out”. June Pointer, the youngest of the sisters, also left the band. She died after long suffering from cancer at the age of only 52 in April 2006. Earlier this year Bonnie and her sister Anita released the song “Feels Like June”, an emotional tribute to her late sister.
Bonnie Pointer is survived by her two sisters Anita and Ruth and their two brothers Aaron and Fritz Pointer.
