Kiril Petkov’s father Petko received a very nice gift for his wedding day. The greatest specialist in environmental issues and in particular – on the Kresne gorge, received a resounding slap in the face from the line ministry. This is what former Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov wrote on his Facebook profile, BLITZ reported.

The former wards of the other “great ecologist” – former Deputy Prime Minister Borislav Sandov, have practically revised his position.
This is in regards to their experience. Congratulations to the National Council for Biological Diversity of the Ministry of Education and Culture, which gave the “green light” to the completion of the Struma highway through the Kresna gorge along the route already selected.
This is the best decision of the ecoministry in a year. And the most direct way to increase traffic safety in this treacherous section.
The Greens deliberately stopped the project by all possible means: both insinuations in the public space and denunciations in Brussels.
Our argument was that yes – ecology is extremely important, but the main priority is the preservation of human life. And with a lot of work and discussions with leading experts and specialists, we have come up with the best possible solution.
There is still a chance that construction of the most difficult section of the Struma will begin quickly. And when the highway is completed, the “greens” are unlikely to go overboard in Greece on a detour route to protest the tunnel!
