Bomb attack in a bank in Remicourt: the perpetrators are still wanted

“Explosion of the BNP bank in Remicourt. A car starts quickly a little before 3:40 am. Bank robbery”, informed a person via our orange button Alert us.

Individuals broke into a BNP Paribas Fortis bank located rue Jules Mélotte in Remicourt, during the night from Thursday to Friday, said the Hesbaye police zone.

At around 4:20 am, the suspects used explosive devices to gain access to the interior of the building. According to the Hesbaye police zone, people could not access the safe and only damage to the building was observed. The premises were unoccupied at the time of the attack and no casualties were to be deplored. Firefighters from the Hesbaye emergency zone were called to the scene for a risk of the building collapsing.

The Oud-Heverlee explosive device removal and destruction service, SEDEE, came to support to verify that no other device had been placed. At 9:21 am, the emergency response was over and the teams left the scene. The perpetrators of the attack are still wanted.
