BOLA – Scottish Secretary-General of Health caught violating mandatory confinement (COVID-19)

Scottish Secretary-General of Health Catherine Calderwood was trapped in her second home, about 40 miles from home, contrary to her own advice to avoid travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the past few days, Calderwood has appeared in several government television ads calling for people to stay at home: “To help save lives, stay at home.” On Saturday, however, the health minister was photographed taking a walk with her family through East Neuk, a picturesque village of Fife, about 65 kilometers from her first home.

The sullen situation led to Calderwood being forced to apologize to the country this Sunday during his daily briefing on the epidemiological situation in Scotland.

Scottish police chief Iain Livingstone revealed that his officers visited Calderwood this morning in Edinburgh to give a formal warning of his breach of security regulations.

«I want to apologize for the article that appeared this Sunday in the media. Although I had reasons to do what I did, they are neither justified nor legitimate for leaving my home », reads a statement released by Calderwood, on the social network Twitter.
