Sixteen games, eight in the starting line, a goal scored. This is the record of Jesé Rodríguez, 26 years old, since, on September 2, he landed in Lisbon to reinforce Sporting, on loan, until June this year, by Paris Saint-Germain, accompanied by Bolasie (Everton) and Fernando (Shakhtar). The first, the Congolese winger, grabbed a spot in eleven; the second, the Brazilian, was returned to Shakhtar.
And that was also the decision that, in the first instance, the administration of SAD do Sporting, in line with the technical team, took in relation to Jesé Rodríguez. Because the investment in the Spanish striker is too high – € 2 million for a season -, because the performance is far below expectations and because, at the market reopening, a striker arrived: Sporar.
Having made the decision in relation to Jesé Rodríguez, the truth is that, contrary to what Shakhtar did in relation to Fernando – accepting his return, with consequent contract termination without any additional costs between the parties -, Paris Saint-Germain refused any changes to the bond signed in September, on loan until June 2020, to Sporting.
