Boeing urges 16 airlines to lose 737 MAX due to electrical problems. Page all

WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – Aircraft manufacturer from the United States (US), Boeing, on Friday (9/4/2021), advised 16 airlines to ground their 737 MAX fleets because of a problem in the electrical system.

Boeing said, this potential problem requires verification that there are sufficient ground paths for the power system components.

The electrical system must be grounded to avoid overloading which can lead to serious failure.

If in the house the ground wire is used to deliver excess electricity to the ground, the plane will flow to the body.

Boeing managed to fly the 737 MAX back in late last year after being banned from flying for 20 months due to two fatal accidents.

Then, recently announced there was an order for 100 planes as the airline sector began to recover from the corona virus pandemic.

Boeing spokesman said they found the latest problem with the aircraft in production.

“It is too early to discuss the time needed to solve the problem, and it could take several hours or several days before the plane returns to operation,” he was quoted as saying. AFP.

However, Boeing did not reveal which airline it was and did not specify the number of aircraft it should be grounded.

The US Federal Aviation Administration received information about this on Thursday evening, a spokesman said.

“The FAA is in contact with airlines as well as manufacturers, and will make sure the matter is addressed.”

“Passengers should contact their airlines about certain flight cancellations or delays.”

United Airlines which has ordered additional MAX planes said it was volunteering and temporarily removing 16 MAX planes from its schedule.

Then, American Airlines said it had moved 17 planes to complete inspections and make changes recommended or requested by Boeing or the FAA.
