Body of third water sportsman found at Scheveningen, a total of five dead NOW

The emergency services found another body of a water sports enthusiast in the North Sea on Tuesday morning, the police have told NU.nl. A total of five water sports enthusiasts died.

Seven people were already taken out of the water on Monday evening. Two of them died despite CPR. A third person was taken to the hospital.

On Tuesday morning it was still unclear how many people were missing. Information from the rescued persons would indicate that at least one person is still missing. On Tuesday morning, the Haaglanden Security Region reported that three people were still being searched.

The police cannot yet confirm that all water sports enthusiasts have now been taken from the sea. The search therefore continues.

A group of surfers and a group of swimmers would have entered the water on Monday apart. Around 6.45 pm they got into trouble for unknown reasons. The emergency services turned out en masse, but the strong wind and rough sea made the search difficult.
