Body of missing person found in Maas near Kessel

The police found the body of a man in the Maas near Kessel in Limburg. It is about the drowning person who has been referred to by the emergency services since last night wanted, the police confirm.

The man would have gone into the Maas yesterday at the beginning of the evening and would not have come up again. Eyewitnesses had last seen him around 7 p.m. The police, fire brigade, Rijkswaterstaat and volunteers with boats and jet skis searched for the victim. Sonar equipment was also used. Today the search was resumed.

The police make no statements about the identity of the drowning person.
