BMKG records the latest earthquake of magnitude 5.1 in Jember, East Java, 06.01 WIB (December 16, 2021)

KONTAN.CO.ID – BMKG has detected the latest earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 rocking the Jember area of ​​East Java (16 December 2021).

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded the latest earthquake that could be felt, on December 16, 2021 at 06:01.

According to the BMKG page (https://warning2.bmkg.go.id), the earthquake took place at the coordinates of 8.55 latitude and 113.49 east longitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was 42 km southwest of Jember, at a depth of 10 km.

Previously, on December 14, 2021, the BMKG also recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2, at 15:57.

The earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred at coordinates 7.70 South Latitude and 122.03 East Longitude with an epicenter 104 km Northwest of MUMERE AUMRE-SIKKA-NTT at a depth of 97 km.

Another earthquake also occurred on Dec 14, 2021, at 3:31 p.m. BMKG noted that the magnitude 5.4 earthquake came from a depth of 12 km with an epicenter of 102 km northwest of LARANTUKA-NTT. .
